The word Extraordinaire is an adjective word that describes a person who possesses extraordinary skills at a particular discipline. Unlike most English words it is an adjective that comes after the skill. Jamila indeed have such extra-ordinary dancing skills.
Born in Beijing, the capital city of China, Jamila came from an artistic family. Her father Wang Ming Ke is a celebrated painter who specializes Chinese water paintings. Jamila was trained as a piano player since the age of 8. She acquired an acute skill for musical rhythms. Her musical background provided strong fundamentals of what is become her forte of Belly dancing – originality.
Jamila started her studies with Singapore renowned Belly dancing school – Belly dance Discovery, and at the same time followed many well-known international artists. These teachers include Mr. and Mrs. Hossam & Serena Ramzy, Madam Raqia Hassan, Dr Mo Geddawi, Prof.Hassa Khalil & Nuriyya, Azzia, Sandra, Kaeshi, Tito and many more.
Jamila has mastered the skill of Zill together with her graceful belly dancing movements. Using her versatile talent, Jamila often blends the traditional and modern styles of belly dance into lively choreographed dances of visual beauty.
Since2004, in a short span of 5 years, Jamila’s dancing skills have accumulated by many folds. She has made a name for herself in the belly-dancing industry. She won the inaugural Global-Asia Belly Dance Competition in 2006 as a soloist. She was invited to perform in many events such as the Singapore Street Festival; Singapore F1 night race shows; Concert at the Esplanade and many charity shows. She was invited as the guest performers for Guangxi Satellite Television and HCM TV station for their television shows.
Jamila provides private and public lessons in Singapore, and has many students who appreciate her dance forms. She has appeared on regular television programs to teach the beautiful art of belly dancing in her individual form.
JAMILA出生于艺术世家，自幼学习钢琴，2001年随家人移民新加坡，并考取了南澳国立大学MBA工商管理硕士学位，一个偶然的机会，让她对肚皮舞一见钟情，通过最初在本地舞蹈学校bellydance discovery的学习和不断的努力， 2006年，她代表新加坡夺取亚洲肚皮舞大赛独舞的冠军，此后她师承多方，汲取众长。先后向国际上的知名大师不断学习,如 Dina ,Doaa sallam ,Mr and Mrs Hossam & Serena Ramzy, Madam Raqia Hassan, Dr. Mo Geddawi, Prof. Hassan Khalil & Nuriyya, Azzia,BellyQueen Sandra ect. 2008年，她又赴北京参加亚洲杯肚皮舞大赛团体组决赛，并再次获得冠军。
她在舞蹈方面的独特天赋，使她成为第一个被中东著名钢琴家钦点的本地舞者，2009年4月，她特邀在滨海艺术中心与GUY MANOUKIAN同台诠释钢琴与肚皮舞的完美结合。 同年5月及10月，她代表新加坡先后应邀去越南胡志明电视台，广西卫星电视台等亚洲多个国家电视台表演，并在广西艺术学院举办专场肚皮舞研讨会，反响热烈。她也是新加坡唯一在官方电视台早安你好新闻栏目中示范教学的东方舞蹈老师。
她的舞蹈优美细腻，在保留传统埃及舞风格的同时，也不断融入更多的中国元素，灵活运用各种道具乐器的使用，使观众融入一场视觉及听觉的盛宴。
